IBPS RRB 2026: Which Posts Can You Apply For?

This is one of the most important rules in the notification.

A candidate can apply for:

Office Assistant + one Officer post

However, a candidate cannot apply for more than one Officer Scale. For example, applying for both Scale-I and Scale-II is not permitted. Applications for more than one Officer post can be rejected. Separate applications and fees are required for different cadres.

How to Apply for IBPS RRB Recruitment 2026

The application is completely online and the registration window is open from 1 September to 21 September 2026.

  1. Open the appropriate IBPS RRB online application link given below.
  2. Complete New Registration and save the provisional registration number and password.
  3. Enter your personal, educational and other required details and upload the prescribed documents.
  4. Pay the application fee online.
  5. Check the complete application carefully and submit it. Save the final application form and e-receipt for future use.

The notification specifically states that candidates can apply online only and that the application cannot be withdrawn after registration.

Before submitting the form

  • State/UT choice for Office Assistant and Scale-I.
  • Local language eligibility.
  • Category details and certificates.
  • Graduation percentage.
  • Photograph and signature.
  • Email ID and mobile number.

For Office Assistant and Scale-I, the State/UT selected in the application is important because provisional allotment is restricted to the RRBs of the selected State/UT.

Documents Required

Candidates should keep the following ready while filling the application:

  • Recent photograph
  • Signature
  • Left thumb impression
  • Handwritten declaration
  • Educational qualification details
  • Category/PwBD/ESM documents, where applicable

The notification prescribes specific size and file-format requirements for the photograph, signature, thumb impression and handwritten declaration.

3. Local language matters: Office Assistant and Scale-I candidates must meet the prescribed local-language requirement.

4. Qualification result deadline: The relevant educational qualification result must be declared by 21 September 2026.
