The TNPSC CTS notification 2026 is finally here — and if you’ve been waiting for a stable government job with your Diploma or ITI certificate, this is the moment you’ve been preparing for. The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission has released Notification No. 06/2026 for the Combined Technical Services Examination (Diploma / ITI Level), opening up 839 vacancies across 56 posts in departments ranging from Public Works and Highways to Fisheries, Textiles, Agriculture, and Employment & Training.
For thousands of Tamil Nadu families, a government technical job means financial security, pension, medical coverage, and respect in the community. Most diploma and ITI candidates spend years chasing scattered departmental notifications, paying separate fees, and preparing for different exam patterns. The TNPSC CTS 2026 ends that chaos — one exam, one application, 56 posts. Whether you hold a Diploma in Civil Engineering, an ITI certificate in Electrician or Fitter trade, or a degree in Agriculture — there is a post waiting for you.
If you are serious about securing a technical government job in 2026, this notification deserves your full attention. The online application window opens on July 17, 2026 and closes on August 15, 2026 at 11:59 PM. A 3-day correction window follows from August 19–21, 2026. Do not wait until the last date — TNPSC servers are notorious for crashing on final days.

Why This TNPSC CTS Notification 2026 Matters
One exam. One application. 56 posts. That is the power of the TNPSC CTS 2026.
If you are a Diploma holder in Civil Engineering, you can target posts in Public Works, Highways, Rural Development, Forest, Town Planning, and TN Police Housing Corporation — all through one application. If you are an ITI-trained Electrician, Fitter, or Machinist, you can aim for Junior Training Officer posts in the Employment & Training Department with Level 11 pay scale — a significant upgrade from private sector technician roles.
Here is what makes this recruitment different from chasing individual departmental jobs:
| Factor | Individual Departmental Jobs | TNPSC CTS 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Number of applications | 5–10 separate applications | 1 unified application |
| Exam fees | ₹100–₹500 per exam | ₹100 base + ₹100 per additional subject paper |
| Exam preparation | Different syllabus each time | Standardized Paper I + Subject Paper II |
| Job security | Contract / temporary common | Permanent government service |
| Pay scale | ₹15,000–₹25,000 private | Level 5 to Level 15 (₹26,500 to ₹1,42,900) |
For ITI certificate holders especially, this is a rare direct pathway to Group C government posts without needing a Diploma or Degree. The Junior Training Officer posts alone account for 34 different trades — from traditional trades like Electrician, Fitter, and Welder to emerging trades like Drone Pilot, Industrial Robotics, CNC Machining, and Electric Vehicle Mechanic.
About Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission

- Uniform exam pattern reducing candidate confusion
- Transparent merit-based selection with reservation rules applied consistently
- Faster recruitment cycle compared to fragmented departmental hires
TNPSC’s credibility is reinforced by its strict document verification process — onscreen certificate verification followed by physical verification ensures only genuine candidates progress to final selection.
