The 8th Pay Commission Calculator 2026 helps Central Government employees estimate their possible revised salary using an assumed fitment factor. The calculator estimates revised Basic Pay, DA, HRA, gross salary and the possible monthly increase based on the values entered by the user.
The 8th Central Pay Commission is currently working on its recommendations, and its final fitment factor, revised Pay Matrix and allowance structure have not yet been officially announced. Therefore, the figures generated by this calculator are estimates only and should not be treated as official 8th CPC salary figures. The Commission was constituted by the Government of India on 3 November 2025 and has been given 18 months to submit its report.
How the 8th Pay Commission Calculator Works
The 8th Pay Commission Calculator estimates a possible revised salary by applying an assumed fitment factor to your current Basic Pay. You can enter your current Basic Pay, assumed fitment factor, current DA rate, HRA rate, TA, other allowances and estimated deductions.
The calculator first estimates the revised Basic Pay and then uses the selected allowance assumptions to calculate an estimated revised gross salary. It also compares the current salary estimate with the projected revised salary to show the possible monthly and percentage increase.
Because the 8th CPC has not yet published a final revised Pay Matrix, the calculator allows the fitment factor to be changed so that users can test different scenarios.
What Is the 8th Pay Commission?
The 8th Central Pay Commission is a Government-appointed commission responsible for examining and making recommendations on the pay structure, allowances, benefits and other service-related matters of Central Government employees and other categories covered by its terms of reference.
The Union Cabinet approved the Commission’s Terms of Reference in October 2025, and the Commission was formally constituted on 3 November 2025. The Commission has been given 18 months to submit its report.
The official 8th CPC website continues to publish consultation-related notices, meetings and visits, indicating that the Commission’s work is still ongoing
Is the 8th Pay Commission Fitment Factor Finalized?
No. The official 8th CPC fitment factor has not yet been announced.
The fitment factor entered into this calculator is therefore an assumption used to demonstrate possible salary scenarios. Users can change the value to compare different estimates.
For example, entering a fitment factor of 2.57 does not mean that 2.57 has been approved by the 8th Central Pay Commission. It is simply an assumed value for calculation purposes.
What Is the Assumed Fitment Factor?
The fitment factor is a multiplier used to estimate how the existing Basic Pay could translate into a revised Basic Pay under a new pay structure.
The previous 7th Central Pay Commission used a fitment factor of 2.57 in its recommended pay structure. However, the 8th CPC may recommend a different factor, and the final figure can only be known after the Commission makes its recommendations and the Government takes the applicable decision.
Therefore, this calculator labels the field “Assumed Fitment Factor” instead of calling it the official 8th CPC fitment factor.
How Is 8th CPC Revised Basic Pay Estimated?
The calculator uses a simple estimation formula:
Estimated Revised Basic Pay = Current Basic Pay × Assumed Fitment Factor
For example, if your current Basic Pay is ₹44,900 and you use an assumed fitment factor of 2.57:
₹44,900 × 2.57 = ₹1,15,393
This is only a mathematical estimate based on the selected assumption. The actual 8th CPC Basic Pay will depend on the final Pay Matrix and rules adopted after the Commission’s recommendations are considered.
8th Pay Commission Salary Calculation Example
Suppose an employee has:
Current Basic Pay: ₹44,900
Assumed Fitment Factor: 2.57
Current DA: 60%
HRA: 30%
TA: ₹5,760
Using the calculator’s assumptions, the estimated revised Basic Pay is approximately ₹1,15,393.
The calculator then applies the selected HRA and allowance assumptions to estimate the revised gross salary. These figures are not official 8th CPC salary figures and should be viewed only as a scenario-based estimate.
How Much Salary Increase Can Be Expected From the 8th Pay Commission?
The actual salary increase cannot be determined until the 8th CPC recommendations and the Government’s final decisions are available.
The salary increase may depend on the final fitment factor, revised Basic Pay, DA treatment, HRA rates, Transport Allowance, other allowances and the way the new Pay Matrix is implemented.
This calculator therefore shows a possible salary increase based on user-selected assumptions rather than predicting an official increase.
What Happens to DA After a New Pay Commission?
A new Pay Commission can introduce a revised pay structure, after which DA treatment may be governed by the rules of the new structure.
For this reason, the calculator does not present the current 60% DA rate as the guaranteed DA rate under the 8th CPC. The estimated revised salary calculation starts with 0% revised DA in the current model because the future DA structure has not been officially announced.
This assumption may need to be changed when the Government publishes the applicable 8th CPC implementation rules.
Will HRA Change After the 8th Pay Commission?
HRA under the 8th CPC cannot yet be stated with certainty because the future allowance structure has not been officially finalized.
The calculator allows users to select an estimated HRA rate of 30%, 20% or 10%, or enter a custom rate, so different scenarios can be tested.
These figures are calculation assumptions only and should not be treated as confirmed 8th CPC HRA rates.
What Does the 8th Pay Commission Calculator Calculate?
The calculator provides an estimated revised Basic Pay using the assumed fitment factor entered by the user.
It also estimates current and revised gross salary using DA, HRA, TA and other allowance assumptions. The calculator compares the two figures and displays the estimated monthly increase and percentage increase.
An optional deduction field is also provided to estimate salary after deductions. This should not be considered an official in-hand salary calculation because actual payroll deductions can vary between employees.
Why Is the 8th CPC Calculator Only an Estimate?
The 8th Central Pay Commission has not yet published its final salary recommendations or revised Pay Matrix. The Commission is still carrying out consultations and related work in 2026.
As a result, important inputs such as the final fitment factor, revised Basic Pay structure, DA treatment and allowance rates are not yet known.
The calculator is therefore intended to help users understand possible salary scenarios, not to provide an official forecast.
8th Pay Commission vs 7th Pay Commission
The 7th Central Pay Commission recommendations established the current 7th CPC pay structure. The 8th CPC has been constituted to examine and recommend changes to the pay and related service conditions applicable to the categories covered by its terms of reference.
The 7th CPC’s fitment factor was 2.57, but this does not mean that the 8th CPC will use the same factor. The future fitment factor will depend on the 8th CPC’s recommendations and subsequent Government decisions.
When Will the 8th Pay Commission Salary Be Finalized?
The 8th CPC was constituted on 3 November 2025 and has been given 18 months to submit its report. Its official website continues to publish notices relating to meetings, consultations and visits during 2026.
The final salary structure will only be known after the Commission submits its recommendations and the Government takes the relevant decisions on implementation.
Therefore, any exact 8th CPC salary figure circulating before the official recommendations should be treated cautiously.
NPS, Pension and 8th CPC Salary
Changes in Basic Pay can affect salary-linked retirement contributions and other components, depending on the applicable rules.
Employees covered under NPS can use the NPS Calculator on GovtJobDeck separately to estimate employee and Government NPS contributions based on Basic Pay and DA.
The 8th Pay Commission calculator on this page does not attempt to calculate the final retirement benefit or pension payable after retirement.
Important Assumptions and Limitations
This calculator is an independent estimation tool and is not an official Government salary calculator.
The assumed fitment factor is user-selectable and should not be interpreted as an officially approved 8th CPC figure.
The calculator also uses user-selected assumptions for HRA, TA, other allowances and deductions. Actual salary will depend on the final 8th CPC Pay Matrix, allowance rules, implementation decisions and the employee’s individual circumstances.
The projected figures may therefore change when official 8th CPC recommendations and implementation rules are published.
