Last Updated: 8 July 2026
RRC NCR Apprentice Recruitment 2026 is now live. The Railway Recruitment Cell, North Central Railway (RRC/NCR) has announced 1,853 Act Apprentice slots for the training year 2026-27 across 21 designated ITI trades. If you have completed your 10th standard with 50% marks and hold an ITI certificate in a relevant trade from NCVT or SCVT, this is a solid opportunity to get into the Indian Railways apprenticeship system.
The selection is purely merit-based β there is no written test, no viva, no interview. Your marks in 10th and ITI (equal weightage) decide your rank. That is it. For many ITI graduates who dread competitive exams, this is one of the cleanest entry paths into the railway ecosystem.
Quick heads up: The online application started on 8 July 2026 at midnight and closes on 7 August 2026 at 11:59 PM. The portal is www.rrcpryj.org. Do not wait until the last week β railway application portals get overloaded and crash.
The training is for one year under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Selected apprentices will be posted across Agra, Jhansi, Prayagraj divisions, Jhansi Workshop, Track Machine Line, and NCR Headquarters. The stipend is paid as per the extant rules governed by the concerned State Governments and Railway Board instructions.

About RRC NCR and the Apprenticeship System
Railway Recruitment Cell, North Central Railway (RRC/NCR) is the nodal agency for engagement of Act Apprentices across the North Central Railway zone. Headquartered at Prayagraj, NCR is one of the busiest railway zones in India, covering the critical Delhi-Kolkata and Delhi-Chennai routes.
The Act Apprenticeship is a structured one-year training program under the Apprentices Act, 1961. It is not a permanent job β it is training. However, it gives you:
- Practical hands-on experience in railway workshops and divisions
- A certificate of proficiency from NCVT upon completion
- Preference in railway recruitment (many RRB posts give weightage to apprenticeship training)
- Stipend during training as per state government rules
Important: Completion of apprenticeship does not guarantee employment in Railways. The Act clearly states it is not obligatory on the employer to offer any employment after training. However, the experience and certificate significantly improve your profile for future railway recruitments.
ITI graduates should also explore Government Jobs After ITI 2026 for more trade-based opportunities.
