Important: Candidates awaiting their Bachelor’s degree result may apply for the Delhi Police/CAPF SI posts, but they must possess the required qualification on or before the closing date of online applications.
Driving Licence Requirement
For SI in Delhi Police, male candidates must have a valid LMV driving licence for motorcycle and car on the date fixed for the Physical Endurance and Measurement Test (PE&MT).
Male candidates who do not have the required driving licence can still apply for SI posts in CAPFs, but they will not be eligible for the Delhi Police SI post.
SSC CPO Age Limit 2026
The crucial date for age calculation is 1 August 2026.
For all posts except SI (Fire) in CISF, the age limit is:
20–25 years
Candidates must have been born between 2 August 2001 and 1 August 2006.
For SI (Fire) in CISF, the age limit is:
18–30 years
Candidates must have been born between 2 August 1996 and 1 August 2008.

SSC CPO Selection Process 2026
The selection process consists of multiple mandatory stages:
Paper-I → PST/PET → Paper-II → Detailed Medical Examination/Review Medical Examination → Document Verification → Final Selection
Paper-I performance is used to shortlist candidates for PST/PET. PST/PET is qualifying in nature, and only candidates who qualify are allowed to appear in Paper-II. Candidates are subsequently shortlisted for medical examination, and those qualifying in medical and document verification are considered for final selection.
Final post/force allocation is based on Paper-II performance and the candidate’s post/force preferences.

SSC SI CAPF Recruitment 2026 Selection Process / Scheme of Examination
The SSC CPO 2026 examination consists of Paper-I, Physical Standard Test (PST) / Physical Endurance Test (PET), Paper-II and Detailed Medical Examination (DME). PST/PET and DME are qualifying in nature, while candidates are shortlisted for subsequent stages based on their performance in the written examinations.

Questions in both papers are Objective Multiple Choice Type. Questions in Parts I, II and III are set in Hindi and English. There is negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I and 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-II.
The Commission will normalize scores where the Computer-Based Examination is conducted in multiple shifts.
NCC Bonus Marks
NCC certificate holders as on the closing date of online applications will receive bonus marks in both Paper-I and Paper-II, which will be added to their normalized scores.

Shortlisting for PST/PET and Further Stages
Candidates are shortlisted for PST/PET on the basis of Paper-I performance, including applicable NCC bonus marks. PST/PET is mandatory but qualifying in nature. Ex-Servicemen are exempt from PET but must undergo PST.
Only candidates who qualify PST/PET are allowed to appear in Paper-II. Candidates are subsequently shortlisted for medical examination on the basis of Paper-II performance. DME/RME and Document Verification are mandatory qualifying stages for final selection.

Physical Standard Test (PST) – Height & Chest Norms
The PST requirements vary according to the post, gender and applicable candidate category/region. The notification provides different standards for general candidates, candidates belonging to specified hill areas, Gorkhas, Scheduled Tribes, North-Eastern States and other eligible categories.
For the standard categories, the prescribed height is generally 170 cm for male candidates and 157 cm for female candidates, with specified relaxations. Female candidates have no minimum chest measurement requirement. Weight should correspond to height for all posts.
PST/PET does not carry marks and is qualifying/eliminating in nature. Relaxation in height or chest is allowed only on production of the prescribed certificate from the competent authority.

Ex-Servicemen: Candidates belonging to the Ex-Servicemen category are exempt from PET, but they must qualify the written examinations and meet the prescribed PST and medical standards.
Medical Examination
Candidates who qualify Paper-II are required to undergo a Detailed Medical Examination (DME). Candidates declared medically unfit in DME may undergo a Review Medical Examination (RME), preferably on the following day.
DME/RME is mandatory but qualifying in nature, and the decision of the Review Medical Board is final.
The prescribed medical standards include:
- Near vision: N6 (better eye) and N9 (worse eye)
- Distant vision: 6/6 (better eye) and 6/9 (worse eye)
- Vision standards are without correction through spectacles or surgery.
- Candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose veins or squint.
- Candidates must possess high colour vision and be in good mental and bodily health.
Document Verification
Candidates who qualify the required examination and medical stages will undergo Document Verification (DV). The relevant user departments/CAPFs verify the claims made in the application against original certificates.
Candidates may be required to produce:
- Matriculation/Secondary Certificate
- Educational Qualification Certificate
- Equivalence Certificate, where applicable
- Caste/Category Certificate, where applicable
- Valid Driving Licence for eligible male candidates applying for Delhi Police SI
- Ex-Servicemen certificates/undertaking, where applicable
- Other documents specified in the Admission Certificate or by the concerned authority
If a claim made in the application cannot be substantiated through the required documents, the candidature may be cancelled.
For candidates who have not used Aadhaar-Based Authentication, the examination-stage instructions also require two recent passport-size colour photographs and an original valid Photo ID showing the date of birth.
SSC SI CAPF Recruitment 2026 Indicative Syllabus
The indicative syllabus for Paper-I and Paper-II covers the following subjects:
- General Intelligence and Reasoning: Analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, problem solving, coding-decoding, number and figural series, syllogistic reasoning, Venn diagrams, critical thinking, emotional intelligence, social intelligence and related topics.
- General Knowledge and General Awareness: Current events, History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, Scientific Research and general awareness of the environment and society.
- Quantitative Aptitude: Number systems, percentage, ratio and proportion, averages, interest, profit and loss, time and work, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, mensuration and data interpretation.
- English Comprehension: Vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms, spellings, error recognition, fill in the blanks, idioms and phrases and comprehension.

How to Apply for SSC CPO 2026
Candidates should complete the application through the new SSC website.
SSC CPO Apply Online Step-by-Step Process:
- Complete One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new SSC website.
- Log in using the registration credentials.
- Select Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces Examination 2026.
- Enter the required educational and personal details.
- Complete the required application information.
- Capture the real-time photograph as instructed.
- Upload the prescribed signature.
- Pay the applicable examination fee.
